Our On Location Film Festival 2010 was an immense success, screened at five venues in Worthing; from stepping back in time for a screening of the classic black and white weepie Brief Encounter in a station waiting room, (complete with 1940s-style tea and cakes and 1940s dress code and prizes for the best dressed members of the audience,) to The Big Lebowski, projected on a giant screen over the bowling lanes at AMF.
Viewers also received a free game of bowling, as well as the Dude's trademark White Russian cocktail to sip while watching the film.
Festival director Stefan Sykes says "Last year's inaugral On Location film festival was such a success we decided to do it again, but go for bigger and bolder ideas this time. Each screening is an event in itself: it's more than just showing the film. We were really taken aback at how people entered into the spirit of the event last time, with people coming in costume to the screenings, and that's something that we will actively encourage this year. There is something for everyone - both young and old; lovers of arthouse or mainstream cinema."
"It's the only festival of its kind. We thought it would be great to take films out of the usual cinema environment, and use some of the great locations around Worthing to show films in new and exciting ways, to enhance the whole experience of watching a movie, making the films and venues work in perfect harmony," said co-director Pete Fijalkowski.
